Dealing with the black water and the gray water tank and all the plumbing in an RV can be a headache and can be a little messy but Thetford has some products to make it a little easier for you and keep you out of trouble. First, we'll start with a Tissue Dissolver. Now one of the problems with an RV blackwater tank is that the toilet tissue that gets in there sometimes doesn't dissolve if you're not using the right paper and you're not using the right chemical. Put it in the tank, it helps dissolve that tissue so it won't clog the tank valves. Also, it won't hang on the side of the unit of the tank itself and give you false readings in the monitor panel, which is a pretty common problem. If you're going to have your unit stored for a long period of time, they have a Storage Deodorant. You just put this in the black water tank and it will condition and combine with odors for over six months. So it's a good thing to have. In spring, you bring it out, you don't have that rotten egg smell because that tank sat all the time. Then we have a Toilet Seal Lubricant. This is something that a lot of RV owners take for granted. They don't have to do anything with the maintenance of their toilet, but if you think about it, when that spade valve opens and closes in that toilet, there's a rubber gasket around the inside of that. This is just a nice little lubricant. You pour it inside the bowl. You let it sit there and it keeps that rubber nice and pliable so that it makes a good seal. Same thing with the Drain Valve. When you pull those valves inside, there's a spade valve that opens and closes and both the gray water and the black water. It also has seals in there that need to be lubricated every so often. Pour a little bit of this down the inside. Let it sit before you use the unit. When it's in storage, same thing. Keeps so seals nice and pliable. It also keeps them from sticking when it sits for a long period of time and you go to pull that valve. Talked a little bit before about the monitor panels and how you can get false readings because they go through the tank and they sit exposed to that liquid inside, this conditioner will help clean those probes, bring them back to their operating condition, make sure you don't have a false reading. So it's a good product to add periodically to your black water tank and even the gray water tank. And just follow the directions on the back of the bottle itself. And then finally we have the Gray Water Odor Conditioner. And a lot of times what happens with the gray water is your shower, a lot of your sink drains will go into that as well. You've got soap from the shower. Sometimes you'll have some grease from cooking and cleaning and doing your dish washing. And it's that grease and stuff inside it has a tendency to give off an odor a little bit. You know, we condition our blackwater tanks but we don't think about the gray water. Good product to have put into your gray water just to keep that smell from coming inside your RV. So to help with your black and gray water headaches and to prevent issues later down the road, make sure you look for the Thetford product at any place that sells RV supplies.
