Ticket# 35463 We have a 2018 Forest River motor home with an Ford gas engine. should we add something to the gas tank for winter storage? We live in northern Michigan - cold weather!
Dave: My dealer installed a 2000 watt inverter under the frig about a foot from the power panel using 10 AWG wire. It would not run a 750 watt toaster or 800 watt coffee maker. The problem was the wiring in the trailer. I relocated the inverter to the forward storage cabinet next to the 100 ah batteries bank and ran 8 AWG from the shore power to the inverter and 8 AWG from the inverter to the power panel. Three 100 ah AGM batteries are wired using 2 AWG in parallel. Now everything including the microwave works off the battery bank. Perhaps you can talk a little about wire size and distance to get an inverter to work as expected.
