Description

Space in most RV kitchens is at a premium, so sometimes you have to get a little creative to fit all of your essentials and still feel like you have room to move around. In this free video lesson, we teach you 5 easy and inexpensive RV kitchen storage solutions that you can use to get the most out of your limited space.

5 RV Kitchen Storage Hacks

To help you keep your RV kitchen neat and free of clutter, Lauren introduces 5 of her favorite space-saving objects for better RV kitchen storage:

1) Keep your counters clear with a wall-mounted wire basket. This narrow basket is ideal because it doesn’t jut out far from the wall, yet it’s strong enough to hold several phones and devices, chargers, and other necessities.

2) Avoid the spice jar shuffle by hanging a spice rack with grippers on the inside of your cabinets. Be sure to leave space to close the door when installing!

3) Utilize wire cabinet shelf racks to maximize space in your taller cabinets. By stacking your ingredients, you fill wasted space with essentials!

4) Mount utensil holders on an empty wall, maybe over your sink or oven. These can be filled with forks and knives, kitchen tools, or even some greenery to add a delicate touch!

5) Attach a kitchen wrap organizer to the inside of a low cabinet door. If your drawer space is limited, you don’t want to fill it with bulky boxes of plastic wrap and foil. Get these things out of the way by mounting them out of sight!

These are just some of our favorite tricks for better RV kitchen storage. With a little ingenuity, we’re sure you can come up with a number of other creative space-saving and decluttering ideas for your specific kitchen!

Spice racks are good, but over time, they stretch out and no longer hold. Glad u decided to screw them in. Because the adhesive gives up quick. I also use those white racks in most if my cabinets, they are fantastic and I usually find different sizes at resale stores too. What do you do with the baskets on the wall when your actually traveling. They would bang around too much going down the road.

You can also get magnetic boards (if you’re fridge isn’t magnetic or needing this for a different space) and get magnetic jars for everything from spices to craft materials, as well as other space saving items.

She doesn't now what a small RV kitchen is! There's no island and no spare wall space...

Hello, my name is Lauren, and I'm going to share with you five simple Storage solutions, to make living In a tiny RV kitchen, a little easier. After moving into the RV full time. I loved it, but I realized that the hardest part for me was the tiny kitchen. I was able to identify a few things that were really bothering me, and come up with a few solutions to make it easier. The first Problem that I identified that needed a solution, was that this counter space just became a drop zone for all kinds of things. We would come in, throw our phones down, chargers, just small things, and it would clutter up the kitchen counter. I was able to find a wire basket that easily attached to the side of the island. It doesn't stick out very far at all. But it's a great space to drop things like phones, keys, devices, chargers, anything like that, so that it doesn't clutter up the counter area. The next problem that I needed a solution for, was cooking with spices. Every time I needed a spice and I was cooking. I had a basket way up high that was overflowing. It was just hard to get to. So I was able to find these little strips of spice holders. You can easily break off. However many you need to fit the inside of your cabinet. Three was the perfect size for the inside of my cabinet. There's a sticker that you can peel off and stick. It also came with tiny little screws that you can screw in to make sure it's not going anywhere. I decided to use the screws and the stickers for mine. Now, when I need a spice, I just pop it out, use it, pop it right back into place. It's a much better solution for spices. One important thing to remember if you do purchase these spice holders, you have to make sure that you can still close your cabinet door. You can see that there's a wooden panel right here. So if I would have put a strip right here, the door wouldn't have closed. So I had to be extra careful when measuring out where I wanted to place the strips, that the spices would not prevent the door from closing. Our Harvey cabinets have a decent amount of space in them, but they're very tall. So that made it a bit challenging. I was stacking things up a lot and made it making it difficult to get things in and out of the cabinets. So I was able to find these really inexpensive but super handy shelves for cabinet space and they're just great. We are able to put soups, peanut butter, smaller things underneath the shelves, and the taller items can sit on top of the shelves. I have at least one or two of these in every single cabinet in our RV. Our RV kitchen only has one drawer. And that drawer is not the easiest to access. It's down in a lower cabinet. So you have to open up the bottom cabinet, bend down, pull out the drawer to access what you need. So I thought that it would be nice to have an easier way to get to the things that we use on a daily basis. We were able to find this cute little contraption at IKEA. It's three little buckets, and a metal pole that you mount to the wall. The first bucket holds all of our silverware. I put a cute little succulent in the second one just to make it a little prettier. And the third one just contains some small kitchen items that I use regularly. I highly recommend utilizing wall space whenever possible. It's a great solution for decluttering countertops, cabinets or drawers. The final storage solution that I want to share with you is this kitchen wrap organizer. I found myself just tossing the boxes of Saran Wrap and foil under the sink. It was hard to find them when I needed them 'cause it was dark under here and it was just a big open space. So this fit my needs perfectly. It easily mounts onto the back of cabinet doors and makes it really easy to find what I need. Thanks so much for watching. And I really hope that some of the store solutions I shared with you, can make living in your RV kitchen a little bit easier.
