Lippert Bike Rack

Description

Bikes are a natural companion for a camping trip. The Lippert Jack-It bike rack is a great companion for your bikes. It’s very easy to install and holds two bikes on the FRONT of your trailer. There are a few advantages to this. You can see the bikes in your rear view mirror so you know they’re safe, and there’s less bounce at the tongue than at the back of the trailer. That means more stability for your bikes. This is a great system.

Taking a couple of bicycles along is very natural for me when I go camping, 'cause I love to get out on a mountain bike. If I put the bikes on the back of my camper, in other words, if the bike rack was some kind of bumper mount on the back of this trailer, I would be nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. 'Cause I wanna be able to see that my bikes are still there 500 miles later, before I get to the campground. So one of the things that's really cool about this Lippert Jack-It bike rack is it mounts right here on the jack stand, and it's gonna all be here. So if you can see the trailer in your mirrors, you can see the bikes in your mirrors. That's a great comfort level knowing that everything is safe, secure, sound. Very cool system that I'm about to put on here. I need to remove the jack in order to get the bike rack on. I do have the scissor jacks down. They're supporting the camper. But in addition to that, I'm gonna put these little pillars, these blocks under the frame. Then I can take the pressure off here. There. Now next step, when I take these bolts out, this isn't gonna come up to meet me in a really bad way. Easy peasy. That comes off. Now we just make a sandwich with the jack, or the bike rack parts, in between. Okey dokey. Now we're ready to build from there. Onward and upward. So far so good. All we gotta do is get some hangers on there for the bikes. Looking at the rack now in its relative position to the camper, you might notice it's more vertical. It's more vertical now than it was. So what happened was when I put all of this on, I realized this wing is too close to the rock guard. Not gonna let me put a bike on the backside. That's okay. I took this component off, put this component on that comes with it, and that leaves us more vertical, so that I can fit a bike back here. That leaves us where if you're ready to rock and you're ready to roll. Do that. And then we've got straps. We can pull those rubber straps over the top. That's gonna secure the bike to the hooks and the anti-sway bars. And then of course, we can fit another bike on the backside. This is a great way to take your bikes with you when you're camping. You can see the bikes in the mirror the whole time that you're traveling. The other thing that's great about the system is it's modular. So you can actually take these components and connect them to a conventional receiver and use this same bike rack on the back of any vehicle that's got a receiver in it. So this Jack-It system from Lippert, great way to take your bikes with you.
